We have only tested the indoor airBridge Ethernet Client Adapter, and those tests have not been rigorous tests against specifications or against all other competing products. It does have two disadvantages:
1. It needs an external AC power source (like all competing ethernet client adapters, to my knowledge).
2. It is significantly more expensive, List Price from Singapore is $239.

However, the airBridge does have a 100mW transmitter and a very good receiver (I believe their other products use lower power transmitters, except probably the outdoor airBridge version). At SOHO's wireless installations where our customers receive only weak signals using other adapters, or no signals at all, due to their distance from our antennas or intervening obstructions, the airBridge works almost every time (within reason). It easily outperforms every other adapter we have tried, including other 100mW PCMCIA cards. In these situations, we wholeheartedly endorse the airBridge unit.

By way of disclosure, following the success we had with this product, it is possible for SOHO Wireless customers to purchase them via our web site, at a small discount for which we receive a few points.

Hope that helps.

Subject: [BAWUG] Smartbridges?

I havn't heard anyone talk about any of the Smartbridges products.  From what I have seen and read they look pretty impressive.  High signal strength and receive sensitivity.

Does anyone have any opinions on Smartbridge products?
