I thought SMTP Auth allowed a variety of authentication mechanisms,
including encrypted ones for password security? Am I wrong about this? I
just did some Googling, and the sendmail documentation (obscure and
confusing as always, unfortunately) seems to indicate you can accept a
variety of methods, but that it can default to no encryption.
