I don't know the reason. Just in the past few days saw a discussion
where experts concluded that Rain does not affect the 2.4 Ghz. Also
saw pictures of Omni Antenna covered by a few inches of Ice and it
was supposedly still working.

why not? isn't water supposed to resonate at 2.4 Ghz? ie, isn't that
how
microwave ovens operate?
