Director Of Product Management Description The Director of Product Management will report to Vice President of Product Development and will be responsible for evangelizing, developing and managing the entire product life cycle for the enterprise software products in the 802.11 market. Major Duties and Responsibilities The candidate will be responsible for: . Evangelizing the company's enterprise software products in the 802.11 markets to industry analysts, customers and partners. . Performing competitive analysis and research customer needs. . Working with marketing and business development to drive business cases to include product strategy, positioning, pricing etc. . Working with potential customers and partners to gather product requirements and establish acceptance criteria. . Working with engineering, marketing and business development teams to define product functionality, and release schedules. . Defining and developing detailed product roadmap and manage the product lifecycle leading to alpha, beta and GA releases. . Leading marketing efforts and documentation processes as part of the development cycle. . Managing of other product management team Qualifications / Necessary Skills . The candidate will demonstrate the ability to function in a fast-paced, competitive and dynamic organization. S/he must be capable of inspiring and energizing others around the vision for the companys product future. . The candidate should be a proactive professional who is able to drive the product development cycle across multiple functional departments. S/he will have the confidence to act quickly and decisively when the market requires such agility. . S/he will need to balance the speed of development and deployment with effectiveness while being able to see the big picture and manage attention to detail. The candidate will solicit the involvement of others to build a sense of ownership. . The Director of Product Management will be a business leader with outstanding management capabilities; a results-oriented leader who influences the actions and opinions of others in a desired direction and
energizes positive changes. . 5+ years in product management and/or product marketing management - leading at least two full cycles of enterprise software products. . A detailed understanding of the challenges involved in enterprise development and deployment of communication products. This candidate should have an understanding of how open source can enable and impact successful business models and customer impact. . An understanding of the disciplines and challenges of software marketing and sales are mandatory. Demonstrate a desire and a skill for speaking with customers and industry analysts. . Domain knowledge of specific 802.11 networking, management, and advanced security features and standards. Demonstrate experience working with networking applications, communication products, wireless applications and deployments. . Demonstrated ability to work with a team to rapidly produce prototypes and iterations on different platforms. Personal Attributes . Motivated and eager to contribute and make a difference. .
