linksys wusb11 version 2.5 (they're selling 2.6 in stores)
has a connector inside the case.
also:
I'd never used a soldering iron before and I had no trouble hacking on a
connection...
IE: if you have a wap11 with an external omni, you most likely have the
second antenna connection turned off. You can harvest a short pigtail with
a screwdriver and a pair of pliers if you open the wap.
from there, you just strip back the cable a little bit (very little bit) and
solder the connections down on your wusb11.
you'll want to secure the cable somehow so your antenna isn't held on by the
solder alone...
I put mine in a box I bought at home depot (grey outdoor electrical box, $3)
and attached the extra wap11 rubber ducky to it.
it works pretty well. and with some glue it is water proof and mounts nicely
on a deck.
this rig works real well for folks who live near your AP but have their
desktop in the basement.
problem is: monitoring and control.
with a usb connection the customer has total control.
if things go wrong for a moment, they tend to start changing stuff.
this also grays the area where your responsibility ends...

also: if they turn off their PC you think their link went down.
this is why a PoE wet11 in a weatherproof box is better.
a bit more pricey, but this way you have a link they can't tamper with and
they can cycle power by just pulling the plug and reconnecting. no
reboots, etc.

good luck.
