There are at least three free wireless cafes in Berkeley.

1) Berkeley Espresso - 1900 Shattuck Ave @ Hearst (across from Oscar's Burgers). They have multiple two-prong outlets and are open until 10pm.

2) Some small cafe on Shattuck a few blocks north of Berkeley Espresso. It's fairly new and I can't remember its name, but I want to say it's something like Gaia or Peace.

3) The Cheese Board. At least, I think they're running an AP as there's an open one called "Cheese Board" available there.

If you are affiliated with UC Berkeley, they have the campus-wide AirBears network you can use. This network probably covers the International House cafe and *might* extend to Strada.

Then there are at least three different commercial networks serving Berkeley:

Surf and sip (4+ cafes in Berkeley, including A Cuppa Tea and Brewed Awakenings: www.surfandsip.net)
Deep Blue (most of the Roma-affiliated cafes)
T-Mobile (Starbucks)
