Pretty rare to have a number that can't be ported. Keep pressing the issue with your new provider and the losing carrier. Eventually you'll get it ported.

Now we are trying to port the number to Cablevision that provides triple play. We are being told that they can't port a cell number because it belongs to the cell company.
