How about the other wall? If you have to, go up 5 feet, so people can walk under, then brace at 7 or 8 feet. It would be even stronger if you could run a 45 gusset from the cross piece to your rail on the other side. Point is we could install stabilizing arms to the pipe and the wall... They would be parallel to the wall ...
