I have also seen improvements during periods of rain and fog. Not sure why but it is noticable. Signal even seems to be stronger during rain.
I am in a very congested area and have 900 MHz delivering 1.5/1 to police cars working in a place that has scada and other noise in a very close proximity to my ap's.
