The receiver impedance should match the cable impedance (50 ohms) for best receiver performance which the manufacturers are all trying to get.
Also if the cable has enough attenuation to not burn up the receiver at the far end then even if there is a mismatch at the receiver on the far end the reflected power will be so highly attenuated by the time it arrives back at the transmitter it will be inconsequential.
