Actually, right after sending the last e-mail, I thought, the weatherproofing may be the problem. Yes it is all metal inside, but the 2 pieces are not bonded to each other when you put in the gasket. No way to ensure a low resistance connection between the box and the back of the antenna.

I am not saying it couldn't be, just that it probably isn't as that is not the designed usage. And in many places, without a UL or similar rating, the local electrical inspector won't like it if he finds it.

Just a caution here, I doubt that the ARC enclosure is rated for 120V outdoor use.
