Robert I have used this for a year and a half and no problem. I also have another alarm system also but have never had to use it for this. I have never seen the witango process still there but not running on Mac OS X. I have only seen that on windows which I cant seem to get a stable box at all.

Because many times, with some types of problems, most of the time, when witango stops working, the process still exists. I have sentrys that check 2 things, one, just a connect check to port 18155, the other, a tickle of a taf that returns a small piece of data from a database. If you just check if the process is running, your site could be down, but you get NO alarms. -- Robert Garcia President - BigHead Technology VP Application Development - eventpix.com 13653 West Park Dr Magalia, Ca 95954 ph: 530.645.4040 x222 fax: 530.645.4040 [EMAIL PROTECTED] - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://bighead.net/ - http://eventpix.com/ On Nov 12, 2005, at 4:31 AM, Michael Dittbrenner wrote: > Why don't you write a shell script checking if the process exists. > > Ps -aux | grep witangod > > And if its there write to the system process exists.. > > If not have it start witango.. > > Then have a cron job run it every so often.
