Until Witango brings out the new editor/server, I would recommend
that you stick to the virtual engine. We're using that with great
success right now.
Actually we use the Windows Developer Studio (5.5) in Parallels and
edit code on the "Mac side" (within Apache) and test with the Mac
Witango server, but you could go Windows all the way.
