One reason that someone might want this is they might want the SourceDir directory property instead because the have a utility on an install CD they need to launch.
In that case, the SourceDir directory property obtained using MsiGetProperty in a CA or as a proper set for CustomActionData might be more convenient. Regards, Aris J.
