I'm not adding any ComponentRef, so that's probably it.  Just out of curiosity, 
adding a <Directory> under a <Directory> is automatically included but file 
references (bundled under a <Component>) won't?

Are you adding a ComponentRef for ASPcomponent0 under a feature? If not it
will not be included in the MSI.
