Hello to the list. I'm a WindowMaker user since years. In the last one I make real some ideas and shoulding.
The first one is the recycle bin without using GNUStep applications like Workspace.app: my environment is based on Slackware Linux and KDE apps. To do this, I use Dolphin as file manager, and I create a dockapp that works with DND (drag 'n drop - still experimental in WMaker for now). I use this python scripts: http://code.google.com/p/trash-cli/. Recycle works fine, except for a bug (I think) in DND implementation: to do DND with QT apps, I need first use it with a GTK app: in particular, first I run Thunar, the XFCE file manager, then I can use Dolphin to drag 'n drop files into trash. Here an image: http://img369.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wmakertrashmockupxq3.jpg The second working mockup is to use the X Composite extension in WMaker (transparencies and shadows). In this case, I use xcompmgr, the composite manager that comes with X.Org distribution, and a daemon: http://transd.berlios.de/ . Also this works quite fine. More infos in blog in my sign.
