Your "tutorial" does not seem complicated...but the workaround
due to the 'transd' daemon is not pretty though (not that your
solution is bad, i.e. there should be no need for workarounds)

I am not sure...

I think that one of the great virtues of wmaker is its simplicity. It does
only a few things (manage windows) and does it _well_. I think we should
aim for keeping wmaker simple, small and efficient.

If there is a way to get those transparent effects without adding code
to wmaker (making it bigger) then I think that is the best way to
go.
