so there is a good chunk of code for handling xdnd. as far as i can 
tell, it can only be enabled manually (unless you fiddle with 
wconfig.h, you don't have it), and it seems to do mainly with clip and 
dock, neither of which i use, so i wouldn't really know.

how common could it be to enable this?

as far as i can tell, linux distros don't turn this on, neither does 
pkgsrc, nor freebsd ports nor openbsd ports.

removing this look, at a cursory look, a bit tricky, for it has 
tentacles in wings, tentacles that are not protected by an ifdef xdnd, 
but it should be doable ;)
