I actually use this, and would probably use it more if it was better
implemented. With gtk apps, you can drag a file onto a dock icon and
have that app open the file. It does not work when dragging from QT
apps I think. (or it is the other way around, I cannot test now)
Anyway, instead of axing it, maybe I will spend some time trying to
make it better, but the whole XDND protocol is really not pretty. Can
you give me a month or two before you drop the blade?
I think the whole concept of dragging files onto apps is intuitive,
quick, and easy to use and is something wmaker should support if it can.
Quoting Tamas TEVESZ <[email protected]>:
hi,
so there is a good chunk of code for handling xdnd. as far as i can
tell, it can only be enabled manually (unless you fiddle with
wconfig.h, you don't have it), and it seems to do mainly with clip and
dock, neither of which i use, so i wouldn't really know.
how common could it be to enable this?
as far as i can tell, linux distros don't turn this on, neither does
pkgsrc, nor freebsd ports nor openbsd ports.
removing this look, at a cursory look, a bit tricky, for it has
tentacles in wings, tentacles that are not protected by an ifdef xdnd,
but it should be doable ;)
shall i attempt?
