Hi there,

Taking into account that there are some dockapps discussions on the list I'd like to report some problems I have with these in particular.

The first time I start some apps (Opera, Firefox, Chromium, Pidgin, Thunderbird, qbittorrent, evince, vlc) their dock icon shows up fine.

The next step I do is to dock these apps but then for some reasons, the icon changes, disappears or becomes a very small image.

I think (I can't reproduce it) that when these apps pop up some dialogs automatically (not dialogs triggered by me), this happens.

Another example is with the Opera browser.

Opera shows a red O icon the first time I start it. By just doing "right-click on the dock icon > Settings > OK", the icon image becomes a transparent XPM with the icon path is still being the same.

~/GNUstep/Library/WindowMaker/CachedPixmaps/opera.Opera.xpm

I'm using the latest wmaker-crm "next" version, but this has been happening for years now.

The other thing I'd like to report is that when some apps are started from shell scripts or symbolic links instead of their own binary file the path in the settings dialog is set to the destination of the link/script.

/usr/bin/opera (shell script that opens /usr/lib64/opera/opera)
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26 Sep 9 02:09 /usr/bin/firefox -> /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 34 Sep 9 02:07 /usr/bin/thunderbird -> /usr/lib64/thunderbird/thunderbird

After docking these apps, when I double-click them I get a popup dialog stating 'Cannot execute command "thunderbird-bin".'

I don't know if this is intentional or not but I wanted to mention it because it seems to be related to the previous problem because if I do "right-click on the dock icon > Settings > Change thunderbird-bin to thunderbird" I get the small picture problem.

Regards.
