Yes, this is the behavior I would like to have. But what I have now
is that if I open more than two windows on a given workspace, the
Alt-Tab will only change between the last two, and the focus will
never get to the others.

can you check if your other windows have the no focus option active in
the window properties? (Right click on the window title, attributes,
Advanced Options, do not let it take focus).
