Hi Ross
It would be good if we could attract developers from outside the
education sector so I think that being able to say that we have the
support of the Apache Foundation would be helpful to that end. So if
it wouldn't take too much more effort it would be great if you could
follow this up with ConCom. In the meantime we'll ensure that we
don't mention Foundation support until everything is approved. We are
hoping to start advertising the event in the next week or so.
Thanks for all your help with this.
Best wishes
Sheila

The event is mainly for the UK HE development community and will
provide an
opportunity for developers to share their experiences/code (more
details are
available on the CETIS wiki @
http://wiki.cetis.ac.uk/Educational_Content_widgetsworkinggroup).
I've not yet got ConCom approval for this, they need a full outline.
Most of what I need is already clear in the above document. However, I
do need to know how you want to use the ASF trademarks. If you just
want to say the event is about Apache Wookie (Incubating) you can do
that anyway. However, if you want to to say something like "supported
by The Apache Software Foundation" then you need ConCom support and
involvement as described in earlier mails.
So, can you tell me just what you want to do with the ASF brand?
If you could suggest someone to
speak from for ASF that would be great, and I don't want to speak
for Scott
but hopefully he'll have no objections to being a mentor for
another event.
I'd also be willing to help with future events.
A couple of people have stepped forward to do this if you decide you
want it.
