What I need to do is to modify the package nodes when they are read - so the package nodes WPKG will work with are not actually the same ones as defined within the XML nodes. When adding such a node to the local wpkg.xml a package with an id value of 'MyPackage' will appear within wpkg.xml as 'mypackage' then. However I don't think this will be a problem.
