Just an update..... I believe the reason my previous attempts did not work was due to several things, I followed the instructions again starting with a fresh XAMPP install, properly configured httpd.conf as per cakephp's instructions. When to http://<myserver>/<wpkg dir>installer and it worked :) mscdex I have to compliment you on such a nice interface, very asthetically pleasing. AFAIK I didn't have to make any configuration changes specifically for wpkgExpress to make it work. There are several existing issues with both with the wiki/documentation and the code itself that do need investigating and/or fixing.
