After putting a plain email address on my web site I got a lot of spam. So I changed my contact address and put it on the page as "mail(at)example(dot)com". Then I used a small script to convert that to a conventional "mailto:" link. No spam from that address in over a year, so it seems to fool 'bots for now. I'd be interested to hear from the accessibility folks, though.
