I'm struggling to follow this thread. What PPA name is giving you trouble?

Your saying Ubuntu 14.10 amd64 fails with a Segfault yes? What is the
build information on the i386 machine ( the older laptop ) that seems to
be working ok?

To be fare, I've done minimal testing on 14.10 as I don't use non LTS
releases, particularly ones only supported for 6 to 12 months. I should
probably pull those builds from the list as I don't test them nearly as
much as the LTS builds, in this case Ubuntu Trusty.

As far as WSJTX goes, I don't have a Ubuntu PPA for it. Until Hamlib3 is
formally released, or hamlib 1.2.15.3 updated, I doubt there will be
one, so I am not sure what package your referring too there. I started a
wsjtx-dev package, but activity on that has been suspended.
