Hi Joe, thanks for your reply. Yes, I do have a large number of audio devices
on this machine because I have 4 SDR's each running multiple demodulators. I am
using Virtual Audio Cable, which creates several different devices per "cable".
Is the solution to just use a different PC, or can I do something to solve it
on this pc?

The error message suggests that the must have a very large number of
audio devices -- more than 40, in fact. can this be true? Are you
using a setup that creates a large number of "pseudo-devices"?
