Greg, I'm running the latest devel release 4969 on Ubuntu 15.04. I do a custom command line install, and use LWM as my window manager. I pull in 2 font packages ttf-ubuntu-font-family, and fonts-droid. I also install the fontconfig package, and use a basic .font.conf. The fonts render perfect on my machine. In fact, the fonts that are being displayed within WSJTX, are the fonts that, I think, the QT GUI pulls in. That being: San Serif Normal 9 Courier 10 Pitch Bold 10 This is my .fonts.conf: tconfig> <match target="font"> <edit mode="assign" name="rgba"> <const>rgb</const> </edit> </match> <match target="font"> <edit mode="assign" name="hinting"> <bool>true</bool> </edit> </match> <match target="font"> <edit mode="assign" name="hintstyle"> <const>hintslight</const> </edit> </match> <match target="font"> <edit mode="assign" name="antialias"> <bool>true</bool> </edit> </match> <match target="font"> <edit mode="assign" name="lcdfilter"> <const>lcddefault</const> </edit> </match> </fontconfig> As far as I know/remember, I have never seen any font rendering issues, on any WSJTX devel release, that I have used within the Ubuntu environment. The WSJTX GUI looks great on my Ubuntu machine. The fonts are clean, bold, and very sharp. In my experience, better than Windows. I hope this feedback offers some insight to your font issues. 73, John, N1ISA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download BIRT iHub F-Type - The Free Enterprise-Grade BIRT Server from Actuate!
