Hi All,

I got the attached e-mail from Mel KD7DCR and I wonder if anyone knows what might be causing the error he is getting?

Hi Bill,

Here is Mel Frost, KD7DCR, over the pond in Montana...in the Mtn's in the snow
and in the cold...

Your explanation of the ver. numbers/ref's for WSJT-X got my attention and I
wondered if you have the same knowledge level about the WSJT-10 linage?

My reason for asking:
I was talking with Bill in North Dakota, ND0B...when I was trying to get my
portable station up/running for Meteor Scatter ops from rare grids, for FFMA
award. He advised me to just go direct to -10 version... I had/have a hook up
problem with my laptop (Lenovo T530 ThinkPad)- it uses one of those "single
jack" connectors for the phones/mic ... Any of the "very few" splitters I have
found, the little jacks are to close together for normal single plugs to go in..
So...he said: Get a West Mtn Rigblaster ADVANTAGE and all your problems go
away... So I did, and they Didn't...

My rig is an IC756p3 , running MS Win7 Pro 64bit on the laptop, lots of RAM..

I do run the old "Digipan" without problem - PTT works, etc... AND, the hand
mic into the Advantage does work.
I do run the "JT65-HF" without problem - same as above.

When I try to load -10, I get an error message about "to many devices" and it
says failed to open/load...relating to sound in/out. And, a long error number
is shown...all in the little window of "text" that looks like an old command
window. The other windows, waterfall and control, flash up and then down/off
during this process.. only the text window remains on my screen afterward.

Is this me, or is this software?? Should I consider going back to one of the
-9 versions?..

ANYWAY... That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed..

Regards,
Mel Frost
