This is how it's always been, or at least, how it's been done since I've
been using it.

No, it is listed in Versions.cmake file, not the SVN repository commit
number. Version.cmake is "plain-text" also.

That's normal. WSJT-X uses the the Versions.cmake file for it's version
information. All you have to do is use "svn info" on the WSJTX checkout
directory to grab the commit number of your checkout.

For example, on Linux, using JTSDK Nix:

My recommendation would be to use / test WSJTX v1.6.0 rather than the
wsjtx_exp branch. Joe merges the wsjtx_exp branch changes back into the
main development branch fairly often. The code in wsjtx_exp may not work
at all when new features are being added.
