Hi all,

I am running OS X 10.10.5 on a macbook air with the latest development version
of wsjt-x. I have always been able to use the built-in microphone as an input
device with wsjt-x. Now when I try to receive audio from the microphone I get a
short transient (almost exactly 300ms in duration) at the beginning of a
receive period, then zeros.

It looks like a switching transient and there may be some low-level audio
present in between large starting and ending clicks that are almost exactly 300
ms apart.

Sound input from the microphone works ok with portaudio in FLDIGI and I see the
bars light up when looking at the built-in microphone mixer panel in the the OS
X audio settings, so I think that the microphone is working.

I am running with a recently updated hamlib (from Bill’s git repository) and
with a recently installed Qt 5.6.

As far as I can tell from reading earlier messages on the list, recent problems
with OS X audio have been reported, but they all involved USB sound devices and
not the built-in microphone.

Have other OS X users noticed this problem?
