Several users with good computer know-how have been helpful during the
roll-out phase of WSJT-X v1.7 (-rc1, -rc2, ...) by building successive
code revisions and making them available to other users. At such times
of incremental bug fixes and minor improvements, user feedback is a big
help.
As you know, tagged code revision 7405 in our SVN repository is the
stable, general-availability release of WSJT-X Version 1.7.0. Starting
with r7406, the development branch is now once again devoted to
developer experiments. Until further notice it is likely to be
unstable; it is definitely not suitable for general use.
We prefer to do our development in the open. But unless you are in
direct contact with the coding team, please do not build and distribute
code revisions of WSJT-X later than r7405. When new features aren't yet
working well, or the program is partly broken, user feedback just wastes
our time and everyone else's.
As soon as there are new features that work well and will be of interest
to general users, we will make it known.
