Hi James >From my discussions with Joe, K1JT, there are no plans to implement fsk441 in wsjtx. The prime reason being that for one to one QSOs msk144 has a significant advantage. However in VK FSK441 is preferred as almost all meteor scatter is during activity sessions. During activity sessions it is useful to be able to work more than one station at a time and this has worked well over many years and maintained interest in meteor scatter. FSK441 allows any free text message and thus you can respond to say two stations with a message such as:
VK4UH/26 VK4CDI/R27 VK2TXP msk144 gains some of its performance advantage by using structured messages which limits one to responding to one station at a time. The solution is to download a copy of WSJT10 which includes FSK441 and have both WSJT10 and WSJTX on your desktop and use WSJT10 for MS during activity sessions. 73 Rex VK7MO -----Original Message----- From: James Morris [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, 28 January 2017 12:54 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [wsjt-devel] fsk441 in wsjtx I'm getting started in meteor scatter and was wondering if there are plans to implement fsk441 in wsjtx? I'm happy to use msk144, but I've been told that people in vk tend to use fsk441. - James VK2TXP -- James Morris <[email protected]> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, SlashDot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, SlashDot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
