v1.8.0-rc2 10/28/17

v1.8.0-rc1 runs perfectly.

Close it down, and execute either of the other versions and they:

#1 show frequency / band info in red even though “test CAT” returns a green /
OK indication
#2 show no signals / activity on busy band

All preferences are the same, whichever version is executed.

Can anyone tell me what’s going on here and how to fix it?

Hi Ed,

the RCn versions of WSJT-X v1.8.0 were pre-release beta test versions of WSJT-X and are now obsolete as the General Availability (GA) version v1.8.0 has been released.

RC1 had a defect that meant that installing it created a working frequencies table that was incompatible with other versions. After installing a later version you must reset the working frequencies table to rectify the situation, as documented in all release notes since RC1.

A lack of signals is probably due to incorrect audio device settings "Preferences->Audio", ensure that they match the audio device connected to your rig.
