Mike & Mike, I agree, that it would be a good idea to inhibit the changing of the data of the station just worked until AFTER the logging has been completed and the log box has been closed. Although the call sign being logged does not change, some of the data does change to that of the newer station. I use DX Lab Suite's DXKeeper for logging. Too many times, before I get a chance to click "OK" in the WSJT-X log box, the next calling station's data gets embedded in the log data (country, continent, WPX prefix, report, etc.) for the previously station worked, but not yet logged. That throws log errors requiring editing the data in the DXKeeper log.
Disabling the changing of the DX call while the logging box is open would prevent the problems now being experienced for those that don't act fast enough to log the previous QSO. 73, Rich - K1HTV = = = Date: Sat, 25 Nov 2017 13:17:13 +0000 (UTC) From: Black Michael <mdblac...@yahoo.com> To: WSJT Software Development <wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: [wsjt-devel] Call change while logging Message-ID: <150424686.2916460.1511615833...@mail.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" There's a problem logging with JTAlert (and perhaps other apps too) if you leave the logging dialog box open and change the active call sign. JTAlert maintains the additional logging info by the active call sign....like country....so you may end up logging the wrong country. There's a potential fix for WSJT-X that's not too onerous....simply disalow changing the DX Call while the logging box is open...simply disable it (to make it obvious) and reenable after logging. I'll be happy to make that patch if deemed appropriate. de Mike W9MDB ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
