Hi all,

We are are planning another test of FT8 DXpedition Mode tomorrow, May 12, at 1400 UTC. The purpose is to do on-the-air tests of fixes for minor bugs found in WSJT-X v1.9.0-rc4 during last Saturday's test run.

Program corrections in WSJT-X v1.9.0 r8658 (relative to v1.9.0-rc4 r8642) include the following:

1. Allow Fox to work Hounds with compound callsigns.

2. Reduce the frequency of Fox CQs to about one every 4 Tx sequences.

3. Correct a program crash when Fox uses "sort-by-grid" and some Hound's grid is blank.

4. Correct the logic for removing a Hound callsign from the to-be-called queue.

5. Allow Fox to transmit standard FT8 messages (including free text) from Tab 1 or Tab 2.

We have not produced installation packages, but if you can build the program yourself using development branch code revision r8658, please join us if you can.

We will meet on the "Ping Jockey Relief" chat page, https://www.pingjockey.net/cgi-bin/pingtalkB , at 1400 UTC. Proposed starting dial frequency is 10.141 MHz, 1 kHz above the lower edge of the conventional JT9 sub-band on 30m.

K1JT will be the first Fox. If there is enough interest K9AN and/or G4WJS can also act as Fox, and if desired we can QSY to another band. Look for details on "Ping Jockey Relief".
