Hi Ed,
the switch to .cbr file extension was a late breaking change as it helps
avoid the possible foobar of overwriting one of the other files in the
WSJT-X log files directory with .log extension. We expect all log
acceptance robots to accept .cbr files as well as .log files and did
check with the ARRL for confirmation of that. Users can choose any file
extension (and any writeable location) they wish, .cbr in the WSJT-X log
files directory is just a default used if none is given.
