That is better, but red/green is one of the most common types of colorblindness, it should probably be some other colors. Perhaps a way to let users pick colors similar to the call highlighting?
This may be a worthwhile read also, they suggest some sample color pallets that would work well for everyone with or without disabilities. https://davidmathlogic.com/colorblind/ I still have to question why the buttons have to move around at all…that seems a rather poor “feature” to break accessibility so badly. -Matt / KK4NDE From: Bill Somerville [mailto:g4...@classdesign.com] Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2019 6:57 AM To: wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [wsjt-devel] Possible bug in WSJTX 2.1.0-RC5 Log-Qso On 30/04/2019 03:46, Matthew Miller wrote: I have reasonably good vision and it trips me up, it seems like an accessibility nightmare for anyone with less than perfect vision. If the buttons have to move around, it seems like some other accessibility change should be made, such as color coding them (also taking into account what colors people who may be colorblind can differentiate). Hi Matt, I agree that the accessibility attributes of the WSJT-X Log QSO dialog have been impacted, we feel the changes are necessary. Your suggestion of colour coding is a good one and I will make a change to set the background colour of those buttons in a consistent manner. Here is an example: [cid:image001.png@01D4FF81.9CCC5D50] I understand you concerns, does such a change help? I should point out that changing the size or shape of the buttons such that they are dissimilar would defeat the purpose of the original change, as would making one of then a default button. I should also point out that hitting ESC, while the dialog has keyboard focus, still dismisses the Log QSO dialog *without logging a QSO" as it always has done. 73 Bill G4WJS.
