This won’t answer your questions, but I’m curious why you would turn the monitor button off overnight? It doesn’t hurt a thing to decode while you sleep. Nightly, I leave mine running on one of the overnight bands and on upper bands during the day - whether I’m in the shack or not, and whether I’m even home or not.
