Hi Marco I have this problem also. Fedora 34 XFCE4 desktop... I have now tried couple of times and wsjtx crashes, but after renaming or deleting refspec.dat I can use wsjtx again. And haven't found that "core-file", what supposed done somewhere. Searched whole HD.
