Subj: PFWG response to XHTML2 WG re: XHTML Role Module
Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

[in reference: PFWG's comments on the XHTML Role Module, archived at:
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2007Oct/0123.html]

At the 26 November 2007 Protocols & Formats working group's telecon, it
was decided that PF would drop its request of the XHTML2 WG for the
inclusion of "title" as a pre-defined role in the XHTML2 Role Module, as
the PFWG believes it can handle the use cases outlined in our original
request with ARIA-defined roles.

Unfortunately, PFWG doesn't believe that RDFa meets this need, although
we do belive in may meet other needs.

However, believes that this need can be met within the system of roles
defined by WAI-ARIA.

Therefore, the PFWG is formally dropping its request for a new predefined
role, "title" -- for documentation of this decision, please consult:

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/w3c-wai-pf/2007OctDec/0224.html

In conclusion, the PFWG would like to thank the XHTML2 WG for its
responsiveness to our comments.

Al
/chair, PFWG
