I could add more and more explanation to any of the features or
functions of any of the buttons or links in the WWWOFFLE HTML. There
is a certain amount of knowledge that is expected of the user of all
computer interfaces. A common one is that a form that allows you to
enter things and then has a button labelled "Change" or "Update" will
use the information in that form and somehow transform something. I
am leaving this obvious fact to the user's experience and not
patronising him by explaining it any further.

The average user won't be scanning for these changes, but *you* did
notice that there was no change. You even thought that this was worth
telling everybody but you didn't try and find out why nothing changed.

In the HTML that WWWOFFLE produces it is very clear that no items are
selected. Obviously the browser that you are using to display the
HTML pages has a poor user interface if it can confuse you whether the
items are all selected or none. You should raise this problem with
the browser people if it disturbs you so much.

Perhaps more training on your part will allow you to see what is
common practice in web pages so that this sort of confusion will not
occur again.
