I'm playing with the dontget replacements, and noted the following.

I configured wwwoffle.conf to use replacment-default.gif for any replacments,
and it works.

/var/cache/wwwoffle/local/dontget/replacement-default.gif is a symlink pointing
to ./replacements/replacement12.gif. Now i point this link to another picture,
replacement16.gif, and reload the actual webpage in the browser. But i see ust
the same replacment picture as before.
Now i restart wwwoffle - again, no change. I also tried the shift+reload thing,
and stop / start wwwoffle.

The browser (galeon) lets me open the picture seperately, under the right name,
but it shows the 'old' content. Only closing the browser, and launching again,
shows the desired effect.
So i guess this is an example for RAM caching ?
I still would like to undertsnad it better, at least, if it's a browser feature
or kernelspace.
(galeon 1.3.19 and linux 2.4.x as well as 2.6.8-12)

btw. i'm looking for some nice replacments (you know, they must scale to any
width/height) if you like to send me yours could put it together and send it to
Andrew for his contrib archive. I'll attach you my recent favourite, for
incentive :) it looks really nice.
(it's from Gnome IIRR, found in
/usr/sjare/pixmaps/accessx-status-applet/ax-key-yes.png).

pps. Andrew, replacments scale at all ? Couldn't wwwoffle disbale scaling ?
I you like to preserve the ayout, perhaps wwwoffle could apply the scale to a
borderless invisible element (like a table cell) and place the replacment
inside this, centered, unscaled ?
But i think small pix instead of scaled up ones will be a benefit.
It would look much better, IMHO, and i could choose many nice pix, like
flowers, or animals.
