It all depends on how you do your updates. If you install from the
source package with 'make install' then you will get a backup of your
old 'html' directory that you can copy the files from. The problem
then is to know which files you have edited and need to copy over.
You could make a backup copy of the files after they are installed and
then check for differences between this and the backup that the
installation makes. You will then know which files have changed.
