I gues you hit into the right direction.
On my box the system Wx is used in combination with mac Ports . . .
So on /opt/local/lib is no libwx . . .
How can I give WxPerl the path to libs . . .
Or shall I better use the newer Wx coming with Macports.
This one is Wx 2.8.9_2 or Wx 2.9 devel.

I also want to note that I have macports installed. And use Wx,
Perl and so on from there.
What's the output of 'ls /opt/local/lib/libwx*'? Maybe the
wxWidgets' MacPort does not install STC (which was in the 'contrib'
section in wxWidgets' 2.8.x).
