I'm not familar with nx, so I'm wild guessing...

Is it just the (main) frames of applications that are affected? The
Audacity Welcome Dialog behaves correctly. Do other dialogs also behave
correctly?

I seem to recall there was a problem with Wx(Perl?) applications on
Windows when frame content is directly contained in the frame. Windows
requires content to be in a panel.
