As an advocate of native UI solutions, the Mac version of my apps is
Cocoa-based (actually wxWidgets-on-top-of-Cocoa - based), so my use of
XQuartz on Mac is limited to testing, compiling X11-only apps, and other
minor uses. However, if I'd need X11 for my everyday work, I'd prefer a
100% compliant solution, with a strong focus in OpenGL+X11 compliance
(graphics is my area), so I'd probably choose another UNIX flavour for that.

I appreciate your effort because it must be difficult to maintain a current
X implementation when the underlaying layers (Quartz in the case of
Apple) are following diverging directions.
