To be more precise, after invoking X11 by clicking on the X11 icon in /Applications/Macports opening xterm or xman does not work.
However, in a normal Terminal, the xterm, xman commands work and moreover launch the X11 application. When X11 has been launched in this way (not the first one), then is is possible to open a new xterm or xman.
