As you can read in the (small)documentionfile of x2go.xsession (/usr/share/doc/x2goserver-xsession/doc/README), the x-setup must be adapted. X2go.Xsession doesn't run "out of the box". First you should know how lxde (login- and displaymanager) and X11/Xsession working together. Then you will be able to configure x2go.xsession.

I have tested x2go.xsession with lubuntu 11.10 . It's working fine with every xsession (Lubuntu, Openbox, ...)

Sorry, but in this case, it's no x2go problem.

Really, this could be the problem. But I did not install the ubuntu desktop (gnome), but the ubuntu server edition (does not come with any graphical mode).

Thanks.

PS: in the local station, I can choose to start in "default", "lubuntu" and "lxde" and "openbox" sessions.

Ps2: I will install now the xubuntu too and see if work whit this.

He's saying that he's got Lubuntu installed over the top of Ubuntu and is trying to log in using x2goserver-xession, but is getting the default LXDE desktop instead of the Lubuntu-branded version of the LXDE desktop.

This is similar to what I was hoping x2goserver-xsession would fix, except I'm using pure Xubuntu (which uses XFCE). I currently (without using x2goserver-xsession) have to use a custom script to set a missing environment variable in order to get the Xubuntu desktop in x2goclient instead of the default XFCE desktop.

I have not yet tested to see if x2goserver-xsession fixes this issue for me.

It's possible that Lucas is experiencing the problem because he installed Lubuntu-desktop over the top of Ubuntu. It's also possible that x2goserver-xsession doesn't provide access to the Lubuntu-themed LXDE session when x2goclient is told to start an LXDE session; I'm not sure what session type you're supposed to request x2goclient to use when also using x2goserver-xession.

    Hello,

hmm, I've had no problem installing x2go under 64-Bit
Ubuntu/Lubuntu/Xubuntu/Ubuntu Studio from the nightly build ppa as
described in the old wiki page.

    1, add-apt-repository ppa:x2go/ppa
    2. aptitude update
    3. aptitude search x2go
    4. Installing the necessary x2go components with aptitude install
    or apt-get install

    Hi,

I've tested the new add-on "x2goserver-xsession" with Lubuntu
11.10( as you described (only choosing LXDE, no Custom desktop)).
    It works fine.

    Great job !!

    greets
    stefan

    P.S.
If you choose "Custom Desktop", use "/usr/bin/startlubuntu"
    instead of "lxsession -s Lubuntu"

Im not sure if its the best way to do...

I have very recently added a new x2goserver add-on package to the
latest code. The current x2goserver code does not run scripts in
/etc/X11/Xsession.d. However, these scripts are often used for
    ,,desktop branding/profiling''.

Please try an installation of this new add-on package:
,,x2goserver-xsession'' from the nightly build repositories of X2Go:
    http://wiki.x2go.org/wiki:nightly-built_packages_debian_ubuntu

... and let us know if the installation of that add-on package
will result in LXDE starting as Lubuntu desktop (that is: without
the way you have described above, just by choosing LXDE as a
    desktop session).

    Greets,
    Mike
