I reread my original email and I find nothing disrespectful in it besides a
statement that I believe the design is flawed. Where I come from, when a
document that is a draft and is in the "request for comments" phase as the
XML:DB API supposedly is from the notices on the page[0] then it is expected
that it contains flaws which should be addressed before the document becomes
enters featre freeze on its way to becoming a standard.

If the word "flaw" offended anybody involved in writing the document then I
extend my apologies since my intent was not to engender any hurt feelings but
instead to provide a critique of the API from an implementor's(somewhat :)
perspective.

The issue is not important enough to me to become a spirit of ill will on this
list so I've decided to retract my criticisms.
